Today Spire had their first day of trading as a public company on the New York Stock Exchange (Nasdaq: SPIR). Founded in 2012 by Peter Platzer, Jeroen Cappaert and Joel Spark, the company was an early pioneer in the cubesats market, proving space-based data and analytics from an ultra-low cost platform. Spire has built what is widely considered today as one of the leading companies in the space industry.
Seraphim first invested in 2017 in the B series, and has supported the company in every round since up to their $1.2B merger with special purpose acquisition company NavSight Holdings earlier this year. It has been a privilege to work with the Spire team for so many years and we remain excited about the future for the business as they deliver against their grand vision.
