Auriga Space: Electrifying the Future of Launch Technology

Written by: Leah Martin | July 17, 2025

We’re thrilled to continue to support Auriga Space, part of Mission 10 of the Seraphim Space Accelerator (now known in the U.S. as Generation Space), as they close a $6 million funding round, led by OTB Ventures with Trucks Venture Capital and other notable investors.

Mission-Driven Innovation

Auriga began its journey within our Mission 10 cohort back in 2022, developing a ground-based electromagnetic launch system, a pioneering kinetic launcher that uses magnetic levitation to propel rockets at hypersonic speeds. This allows the rocket to ignite its engines only for the final ascent, significantly lowering propellant needs and launch costs.

Scaling the Vision

This latest funding round enables Auriga to:

  • Accelerate scaling of its Prometheus lab-scale hypervelocity track, evolving toward full-scale Thor hypersonic launcher and ultimately orbital-capable Zeus system
  • Expand engineering and test operations in Los Angeles.
  • Further validate its approach for both commercial and defense applications.

Why Auriga Matters

  • Seraphim Accelerator alum: Their early development within our programe exemplifies the kind of deep-tech innovation we support and continue to back as they scale.
  • Clean, rapid launch: Electric propulsion for launch reduces environmental impact and enables responsive, frequent launches, critical for both commercial and national security requirements.
  • Market relevance: With growing demand for hypersonic testing and defence capabilities, Auriga is positioned to lead on emerging launch trends.

Seraphim’s Commitment

We invest in founders with bold technical ambition and Auriga’s progress from mission concept to funded scale-up is exactly that. Founder Winnie Lai and her team are redefining what fast, clean launch infrastructure looks like. We’re proud to support this journey and look forward to seeing their impact grow.
