Seraphim Space Investment Trust (SSIT) portfolio company HawkEye 360 has reached another milestone with the successful launch and initial contact of its latest satellite group, Cluster 12. Deployed aboard Rocket Lab’s Electron rocket from New Zealand in late June, the new cluster marks a strategic advancement in the company’s global RF (radio frequency) geospatial intelligence network.
Cluster 12 is HawkEye 360’s first to operate in a dawn/dusk sun-synchronous orbit, significantly enhancing revisit rates in polar regions and strengthening monitoring capabilities in key areas. The mission also debuts a Ka-band downlink demonstration, aiming to increase data throughput for future missions.
In addition to the primary satellites, the launch included Kestrel-0A, an experimental satellite testing new technologies to inform upcoming system advancements.
With Cluster 12 progressing toward full operational status, HawkEye 360 is now preparing for the launch of Cluster 13, anticipated before the end of the year.
HawkEye 360’s continued innovation and deployment demonstrate strong momentum in the delivery of timely, actionable RF intelligence, a capability increasingly vital to both commercial and government partners worldwide.
